After nearly 4 years and 191 shows, I retired from the sonic stratosphere. Hosting the show demolished some of my foolish conceptions of music, affirmed core principles about composing, extended my aural horizon, and fortified my own skill as a composer. It was a great ride!

Every Wednesday at 10 pm, the sonic stratosphere probed the latest trends in adventurous music (Noise, Glitch, lowercase sound, Field Recordings, Plunderphonics) on KSER 90.7 FM, a non-profit, commercial-free, community radio station heard from North Seattle to Everett.

The show also surveyed some of the classic 20th century movements that shaped how we hear music today (musique concrète, elektronische musik, Minimalism, Maximalism, the New Complexity, total serialism, and free improvisation).

Although I hope to upload all 191 playlists some day, the archived playlists below convey an accurate sense of the program.

All pieces were played complete unless indicated by the vile designation excerpt and accompanied by a contrite explanation. If excerpt appears under Piece, the pieces were played complete as presented on the cd. My mission was to spread the composer's work, not cull compositions for drive-time fodder.
